Carers are people who voluntarily look after a relative, friend or neighbour on a long-term, regular basis. It is your continued practical commitment to another person that makes you a Carer. Without voluntary Carers, care in the community would not be possible.
Looking out for someone else can be a great strain on your own health and well-being. We are committed to supporting you because we recognise that Carers have needs as well as the person that they are caring for. We know that caring for someone else often means putting your own needs on hold.
Help is available. Firstly we need to know that you are a Carer so that we can take this into account when caring for you.
The local Carer’s group can provide as much or as little help as you need, both now and in the future.
